Stop adding chlorine products
Remove chlorine tablets or sticks from the feeder, floater, or skimmer
Turn off the chlorinator or saltwater chlorine generator temporarily
Expose the pool to sunlight
Run the pool pump and circulation system
Use the pool normally to help chlorine dissipate faster
Add fresh water to dilute the chlorine level
Partially drain and refill the pool if needed
Use a chlorine neutralizer such as sodium thiosulfate
Retest the water frequently until the chlorine level is in range
