Right-click the file, app, or folder you want to create a shortcut for
Select Send to
Click Desktop (create shortcut)
Find the shortcut on your desktop
Drag and drop the file, app, or folder onto the desktop to create a shortcut
For websites, open the browser menu and choose Create shortcut or Add to desktop
On Windows, right-click the desktop, choose New, then Shortcut
Browse to the item you want to link to
Click Next
Enter a name for the shortcut
Click Finish
