Minecraft does not have a rope item in vanilla survival
Use string to make leads
Craft a lead with 4 string and 1 slimeball
Place the string in a crafting table in a diamond shape around the slimeball
Use the lead to attach mobs to fences or move them around
If you want a rope-like block, use chains or fences for decoration
If you want actual rope, install a mod or use a datapack that adds it
