Gather cardstock, paper, scissors, glue, ruler, pencil, and colored materials
Choose a theme or story for the pop-up book
Plan each page layout on paper
Fold the cardstock pages in half
Draw the pop-up shapes on separate paper
Cut out the shapes carefully
Create fold tabs, V-folds, or box folds for the pop-up pieces
Attach the pop-up pieces to the page with glue
Make sure the folds open and close smoothly
Add drawings, colors, and text to each page
Repeat the process for all pages
Assemble the pages into a book with staples, string, or binding rings
Test the book by opening and closing each page
Trim any loose edges or excess paper
Let the glue dry completely
