Open your Google Slides presentation
Select the shape you want to make transparent
Click the Fill color icon in the toolbar
Choose Custom
Adjust the transparency slider
Click OK
If needed, adjust the border color transparency the same way using the Border color icon
Click outside the shape to save the changes
