Gather a cardboard box with a lid
Gather aluminum foil
Gather black construction paper
Gather plastic wrap or a clear oven-safe plastic sheet
Gather tape
Gather scissors or a box cutter
Gather glue or a glue stick
Line the inside of the box with black construction paper
Cover the inside of the lid with aluminum foil
Smooth the foil to make it reflective
Cut a flap in the lid, leaving one side attached
Cover the opening with plastic wrap
Tape the plastic wrap tightly to create a clear window
Place the box in direct sunlight
Angle the foil flap to reflect sunlight into the box
Put food or a dark pot inside the box
Close the lid and keep the box sealed
Adjust the flap to maximize sunlight inside
Leave it in the sun until the food warms or cooks
