Start with a square sheet of paper
Fold it diagonally to make a triangle
Unfold it
Fold it diagonally the other way
Unfold it again
Fold the paper in half to make a rectangle
Unfold it
Use the crease lines to collapse the paper into a smaller square base
Fold the top layers of the square base into a kite shape
Turn the paper over and repeat on the other side
Fold the long top point downward
Fold the lower edges inward to form the swan’s body
Pull up one narrow point to make the neck
Bend the neck slightly forward
Fold the tip of the neck down to make the head
Shape the wings by pulling the side flaps outward
Adjust the folds to make the swan stand or sit neatly
