Gather needed materials: a crafting table, sticks, planks, and wool (for a painting)
Craft a painting: place 8 sticks in a rectangle shape and 6 planks, then add wool to complete the pattern
Place the painting by selecting it from your hotbar and clicking a wall block
Open the painting’s UI by right-clicking (or using the interact button)
Choose a canvas option (if available) or select the painting variant
Add art by placing blocks/items onto the painting (depending on your edition/mod)
Use a texture pack or resource pack to change painting textures (if you want custom looks)
For custom pixel art: use an external editor to design a 16×16 image and convert it to the matching Minecraft painting format (edition/mod dependent)
Install a painting/drawing mod or plugin that allows custom painting creation (if using modded Minecraft)
If using a modded workflow: follow the mod’s steps to import or draw the image
Save/export the artwork (if the mod supports it) and place it in your world
