1/2 cup unsalted butter
2 cups heavy cream
2 cups freshly grated Parmesan cheese
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg, optional
1 pound fettuccine, cooked
Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat
Add the garlic and cook for 30 seconds
Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer
Reduce the heat to low
Whisk in the Parmesan cheese until smooth
Add the salt, black pepper, and nutmeg if using
Stir until the sauce thickens
Toss with cooked fettuccine
Serve immediately
