Choose your fabric
Prewash and press the fabric
Square up the fabric edges
Cut fabric strips on the bias at a 45-degree angle
Cut strips to the desired width
Join strips end to end if needed
Press seam allowances open
Fold the strip in half lengthwise and press
Fold the raw edges toward the center and press again
Use a bias tape maker if desired
Store the finished bias tape flat or rolled up
