Rinse buckwheat groats under cold water
Bring water or broth to a boil
Add buckwheat to the boiling liquid
Use 2 parts liquid to 1 part buckwheat
Reduce heat to low
Cover the pot
Simmer for 10 to 15 minutes
Remove from heat
Let it sit covered for 5 minutes
Fluff with a fork
Serve plain or with seasonings, butter, or vegetables
