How To Make Coconut Milk At Home?

Gather 1 fresh coconut or 2 cups shredded unsweetened coconut and 2 to 3 cups hot water

Crack open the coconut and remove the white flesh

Rinse the coconut meat

Cut or grate the coconut meat into small pieces

Place the coconut pieces or shredded coconut in a blender

Add hot water

Blend for 1 to 2 minutes until smooth

Pour the mixture through a cheesecloth, nut milk bag, or fine strainer into a bowl

Squeeze or press out as much liquid as possible

Transfer the liquid to a clean jar or container

Refrigerate and use within 3 to 5 days

Shake well before using

Save the leftover coconut pulp for baking or cooking
