Gather diapers, rubber bands, ribbon, cardboard or cake board, paper towel rolls or a bottle for support, and decorations
Roll each diaper tightly from the open end to the waistband
Secure each rolled diaper with a small rubber band
Create a center core using a bottle, paper towel roll, or rolled blanket
Arrange rolled diapers around the core in a circle
Wrap a larger rubber band or ribbon around the first tier to hold it together
Build additional tiers by repeating the rolling and arranging process with fewer diapers per layer
Stack the tiers from largest to smallest
Insert dowels, skewers, or sturdy supports between tiers if needed for stability
Wrap each tier with ribbon to cover rubber bands
Place the diaper cake on a cake board or tray
Add decorations such as baby items, toys, socks, washcloths, or flowers
Secure decorations with ribbon, tape, or small pins as needed
Keep the diaper cake wrapped or covered until ready to gift or display
