Boil water
Add coffee grounds to a cup or mug
Pour a small amount of hot water over the grounds
Stir well
Let the grounds settle for 3 to 5 minutes
Gently pour the coffee into another cup, leaving the grounds behind
Use a spoon to hold back the grounds if needed
Strain through a clean cloth, paper towel, or fine sieve if available
Add milk or sugar if desired
Serve hot
