2 large egg whites
4 cups powdered sugar
1 teaspoon cream of tartar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Beat the egg whites until frothy
Add cream of tartar
Gradually add powdered sugar
Beat until thick, stiff, and pipeable
Mix in vanilla extract
Keep covered with a damp cloth when not using
Add a little more powdered sugar if too thin
Add a few drops of water if too thick
