How to Prove Yeast?

Warm liquid to 100–110°F (38–43°C)

Add a pinch of sugar to the liquid

Sprinkle yeast over the surface

Stir gently

Let stand for 5–10 minutes

Check for foaming or bubbling

Check for a yeasty smell

Use the yeast if it becomes frothy and active

Discard the yeast if there is no activity
