Sift 2 cups powdered sugar into a bowl
Add 1/4 cup milk or water
Add 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Add a pinch of salt
Whisk until smooth
Add more milk or water a little at a time if too thick
Add more powdered sugar if too thin
Dip warm doughnuts into the glaze
Place on a rack to let excess glaze drip off
Let the glaze set for a few minutes before serving
