Freeze water in a shallow tray or mold
Remove the ice from the freezer
Place the ice on a clean towel or paper towels
Let it air-dry briefly
Pat the surface dry with a dry cloth or paper towel
Use the ice immediately after drying
Keep the ice in a cold container to slow melting
