Open Instagram
Go to your DM inbox
Open the chat you want to customize
Tap the chat name at the top
Tap Theme
Select a purple theme if available
If no purple theme appears, choose a theme with purple tones
Update Instagram to the latest version if theme options are missing
Check again after updating
Note that exact purple DMs may not be available on all accounts or devices
