Remove seeds and membranes
Wear gloves while handling jalapeños
Mix cream cheese, shredded cheddar, garlic powder, and salt
Fill each jalapeño half with the cheese mixture
Wrap each stuffed jalapeño with half a slice of bacon, if using
Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a wire rack
Bake for 20 to 25 minutes until the peppers are tender and the filling is hot
Broil for 1 to 2 minutes if you want the tops more browned
Let cool slightly before serving
