Mix red and blue paint in equal amounts
Add a little more red if the result looks too purple
Add a little more blue if the result looks too pink
For a brighter magenta, use a vivid red and a vivid blue
For a softer magenta, add a small amount of white
For a darker magenta, add a tiny amount of black or dark purple
