Peel and cut potatoes into even chunks
Place potatoes in a pot and cover with cold water
Add salt to the water
Bring to a boil and cook until potatoes are tender
Drain the potatoes well
Return potatoes to the pot
Mash the potatoes until smooth
Warm cream in a small saucepan
Add butter to the potatoes
Pour in the warm cream gradually
Mix until creamy and smooth
Add salt and pepper to taste
Serve hot
