How to Make Pandesal?

Warm 1 cup milk or water to about 110°F

Mix 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast with 1 tablespoon sugar and the warm liquid

Let stand for 5 to 10 minutes until foamy

In a large bowl, combine 4 cups all-purpose flour, 1/2 cup sugar, 1 teaspoon salt, and 1/4 cup powdered milk

Add 1 egg, 1/4 cup melted butter, and the yeast mixture

Mix until a dough forms

Knead for 8 to 10 minutes until smooth and elastic

Place dough in a greased bowl and cover

Let rise for 1 to 1 1/2 hours until doubled in size

Punch down the dough

Divide into equal pieces and shape into balls

Roll each piece in breadcrumbs

Place on a baking sheet with space between each piece

Cover and let rise for 30 to 45 minutes

Bake at 350°F for 15 to 20 minutes until lightly golden

Serve warm
