Gather tissue paper, scissors, string, and tape or glue
Fold the tissue paper into a small stack
Draw a simple design on the top layer
Cut shapes and patterns through the folded paper
Unfold the paper carefully
Repeat with different colors and designs
Punch small holes at the top of each piece
Thread string through the holes
Hang the papel picado where desired
