Preheat the oven to 350°F
Place a pie crust in a 9-inch pie dish
In a mixing bowl, whisk together 3 large eggs, 1 cup light corn syrup, 1 cup granulated sugar, 2 tablespoons melted butter, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, and 1/4 teaspoon salt
Stir in 1 1/2 to 2 cups pecan halves
Pour the filling into the pie crust
Arrange extra pecans on top if desired
Bake for 50 to 60 minutes until the filling is set and the center is slightly jiggly
Cover the edges of the crust with foil if they brown too quickly
Let the pie cool completely before slicing
Serve at room temperature or chilled
