Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C)
Place a pie crust in a 9-inch pie dish
In a bowl, whisk together 3 large eggs, 1 cup corn syrup, 1 cup brown sugar, 1/3 cup melted butter, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, and 1/4 teaspoon salt
Stir in 1 1/2 to 2 cups pecan halves
Pour the filling into the pie crust
Arrange extra pecans on top if desired
Bake for 50 to 60 minutes until the filling is set
Cover the crust edges with foil if they brown too quickly
Remove from the oven and let the pie cool completely
Slice and serve
