Gather fresh peppermint leaves
Rinse the leaves thoroughly
Pat the leaves completely dry
Lightly bruise or crush the leaves to release the oils
Place the leaves in a clean glass jar
Cover the leaves completely with a carrier oil such as olive oil or jojoba oil
Seal the jar tightly
Store the jar in a warm, dark place for 1 to 2 weeks
Shake the jar gently every day
Strain the oil through cheesecloth or a fine strainer
Discard the used leaves
Repeat the infusion with fresh peppermint leaves for a stronger oil if desired
Store the finished peppermint oil in a clean, dark glass bottle
Keep the bottle tightly closed and away from heat and light
