Pour the batter into the prepared pan
Tap the pan lightly to remove large air bubbles
Bake until the cake is golden and springs back when touched
Check doneness with a toothpick inserted into the center

Turn the cake out onto a wire rack to cool completely
Slice and serve once fully cooled
