Gather ingredients: 1 cup granulated sugar, 1/4 cup water, 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
Prepare a flat tray or parchment paper
Heat the sugar and water in a small pan over low to medium heat
Stir until the sugar melts and turns golden brown
Remove from heat
Add the baking soda and mix quickly
Pour onto the prepared surface
Flatten into a thin circle with a spatula or spoon
Press a cookie cutter or metal mold into the candy to create a shape
Let it cool and harden
Carefully remove the shaped cookie candy from the surface
Repeat with the remaining mixture
