Fold it diagonally to make a triangle
Unfold it
Fold it diagonally the other way
Unfold it again
Fold the paper in half horizontally
Unfold it
Fold the paper in half vertically
Unfold it
Use the creases to collapse the paper into a smaller square base
Fold the top layer’s side edges to the center line
Fold the top point down
Unfold the last three folds
Lift the bottom point of the top layer upward
Open the folded section and flatten it into a long diamond shape
Repeat on the other side if needed
Fold the side edges of the diamond to the center line
Fold the top point down
Unfold the last three folds
Lift the bottom point upward again
Open and flatten into a narrower diamond
Repeat on the other side if needed
Fold the bottom point upward to form the swan body
Fold the top point upward to form the neck
Bend the neck slightly backward
Fold the tip of the neck down to make the head
Shape the wings by pulling the side layers outward
Adjust the body and neck to balance the swan
