Choose fresh sweet corn ears with bright green husks and plump kernels
Remove the husks and silk from the corn
Rinse the corn under cool water
Bring a pot of water to a boil
Add the corn to the boiling water
Boil for 3 to 5 minutes until tender
Remove the corn from the water
Drain well
Spread butter over the hot corn
Sprinkle with salt to taste
Add black pepper if desired
Serve immediately
