Pound 2 pounds of round steak to tenderize
Season the steak with salt and black pepper
Dredge the steak in flour
Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat
Brown the steak on both sides
Remove the steak from the skillet
Add sliced onions, carrots, and celery to the skillet
Cook until slightly softened
Stir in minced garlic
Add tomato paste, diced tomatoes, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and thyme
Return the steak to the skillet
Cover and simmer on low heat for 1.5 to 2 hours
Cook until the steak is tender
Serve hot with the sauce and vegetables
