Count the number of lug holes on the wheel or hub
Measure from the center of one lug hole to the center of the opposite lug hole for an even number of lugs
For a 4-lug pattern, measure straight across from center to center
For a 6-lug pattern, measure from the center of one lug hole to the center of the opposite lug hole
For a 5-lug pattern, measure from the back edge of one lug hole to the center of the hole directly across from it
For a 5-lug pattern, use a bolt pattern gauge if available for accuracy
Record the measurement in inches or millimeters
Write the pattern as number of lugs by bolt circle diameter, such as 5×114.3 or 6×139.7
