Wash your hands and clean all bottles, nipples, and measuring tools
Prepare the formula exactly as directed on the package using safe water
Do not use breast milk instead of water to mix powdered formula unless your pediatrician specifically says to
Let the prepared formula cool to room temperature if needed
Add the measured breast milk to the prepared formula in the bottle
Gently swirl the bottle to mix; do not shake vigorously
Feed immediately or refrigerate promptly if not used right away
Follow the shortest storage time of either the breast milk or prepared formula
Discard any leftover milk after a feeding
Ask your pediatrician if you need guidance for your baby’s specific feeding needs
