Place the can on a flat, stable surface
Open the can opener’s handles
Position the cutting wheel on the rim of the can
Close the handles so the blade grips the lid
Turn the knob or handle to rotate the opener around the can
Continue turning until the lid is fully cut
Lift the opener off the can
Remove the lid carefully
Dispose of the lid safely
