Clean the furniture thoroughly with soap and water
Remove all hardware, drawers, and shelves
Lightly sand the surface to dull the finish
Wipe away all dust with a tack cloth or damp cloth
Apply a bonding primer made for laminate or melamine
Let the primer dry completely
Lightly sand the primed surface if needed
Apply thin, even coats of paint
Let each coat dry before applying the next
Add additional coats until coverage is smooth
Apply a clear topcoat for protection if desired
Let the furniture cure fully before use
Reinstall hardware and reassemble the furniture
