How To Paint Walls?

Clear the room and cover floors, furniture, and fixtures with drop cloths or plastic

Remove or tape over outlet covers, switch plates, and hardware

Clean the walls to remove dust, grease, and grime

Fill holes, cracks, and dents with spackle or filler

Sand patched areas and rough spots smooth

Wipe away sanding dust

Apply painter’s tape to trim, ceilings, and edges if needed

Stir the paint thoroughly

Pour paint into a tray or bucket

Cut in along edges, corners, and trim with a brush

Roll paint onto the wall in overlapping sections

Keep a wet edge while painting

Apply a second coat after the first coat dries if needed

Remove painter’s tape before the paint fully cures

Reinstall outlet covers and hardware after the paint dries

Clean brushes, rollers, and tools immediately after use
