Take a screenshot on your Mac using Command + Shift + 3 or Command + Shift + 4
Open the app where you want to paste it
Click in the text field or document area
Press Command + V to paste
If needed, use Control + Command + Shift + 4 to copy a selected area to the clipboard first
Paste the copied screenshot with Command + V
