Remove seeds from a ripe lemon
Rinse seeds to remove all pulp and sugar
Select the plumpest seeds
Soak seeds in water for a few hours
Plant seeds about 1/2 inch deep in moist potting soil
Use a small pot with drainage holes
Keep the soil warm and consistently moist
Cover the pot with plastic wrap or a humidity dome
Place the pot in a bright, warm location
Remove the cover once seedlings emerge
Water when the top of the soil feels dry
Transplant seedlings to larger pots as they grow
Move the tree outdoors only after frost danger has passed
Provide full sun
Protect the tree from cold temperatures
Fertilize regularly with citrus fertilizer
Prune as needed to shape the tree
