How to Plant Avocado Pit?

Remove the pit from the avocado and rinse off all flesh

Identify the top and bottom of the pit

Insert 3 to 4 toothpicks around the middle of the pit

Suspend the pit over a glass of water with the bottom half submerged

Place the glass in a warm spot with indirect sunlight

Change the water every few days

Wait for the pit to split and roots to grow

Plant the pit in a pot with well-draining soil when roots are several inches long and a stem has formed

Keep the top half of the pit above the soil

Water the soil lightly and keep it moist

Place the pot in bright indirect light

Transplant outdoors only after the plant is established and weather is warm
