Choose a sunny location with at least 6 hours of direct sunlight
Use well-draining soil with a pH between 5.5 and 6.5
Loosen the soil and remove weeds before planting
Sow dill seeds directly outdoors after the last frost
Plant seeds about 1/4 inch deep
Space seeds or seedlings 12 to 18 inches apart
Water lightly after planting to keep soil evenly moist
Thin seedlings if they are crowded
Avoid transplanting when possible because dill has a sensitive taproot
Replant seeds every 2 to 3 weeks for a continuous harvest
