Turn on a second controller and sign in a second player on the same console
Open Fortnite on PlayStation or Xbox
Go to the Lobby
Make sure both players are on the same console account family or platform account setup
Have the second player press the button shown on screen to join split screen
Wait for both players to appear in the lobby
Select a supported mode such as Duos or Squads
Start the match
Use the same screen to play together
Split screen is only available on PlayStation and Xbox
Split screen is not available on PC, Nintendo Switch, or mobile
Split screen works only in certain game modes
Both players must have active accounts signed in on the console
Both players need compatible controllers connected to the same console
