How to Play Spanish 21?

Use a standard 48-card deck, with 10s removed

Place your bet before any cards are dealt

Receive two cards face up

Dealer receives one card face up and one card face down

Aim to get as close to 21 as possible without going over

Card values are 2 through 10 at face value

J, Q, and K count as 10

Aces count as 1 or 11

Choose to hit to take another card

Choose to stand to keep your current hand

Choose to double down to double your bet and take one more card

Choose to split if your first two cards are a pair

Choose to surrender if the rules allow it

Dealer draws until reaching at least 17

Win if your hand is closer to 21 than the dealer’s without busting

Win automatically with a natural 21

Spanish 21 often pays extra for certain 21 hands and blackjack combinations
