Remove one queen from a standard deck of cards
Shuffle the remaining cards
Deal all cards evenly to the players
Let each player remove and discard any matching pairs from their hand
Place all discarded pairs aside
Choose one player to go first
On each turn, draw one card from the hand of the player to the left
If the drawn card makes a pair, discard the pair
Pass play to the next player
Continue taking turns and discarding pairs
Keep playing until all pairs are gone
The player left holding the unmatched queen is the Old Maid
That player loses the game
