Start with fermented sugarcane juice or molasses
Distill the fermented liquid
Collect the distilled spirit
Dilute to the desired alcohol strength with purified water
Age in oak barrels if making aged rum
Blend different batches if needed for consistency
Filter the rum if desired
Bottle the finished rum
