Wash and chop apples
Place apples in a clean glass jar
Add sugar or honey
Add filtered water to cover the apples
Stir until the sugar dissolves
Cover the jar with a cloth or paper towel
Secure the cover with a rubber band
Keep the jar at room temperature
Stir daily for 1 to 2 weeks
Strain out the apple solids
Return the liquid to the jar
Cover again with a cloth or paper towel
Let it ferment for 3 to 6 weeks
Taste until it becomes tangy and acidic
Bottle the finished apple cider vinegar
Store in a cool, dark place
