Write the country on the last line for international mail
Place the recipient’s address in the center of the envelope
Write the return address in the upper left corner
Use clear, legible handwriting or printed text
Use the correct postage in the upper right corner
Use abbreviations only when appropriate and standard
Include apartment, suite, or unit numbers with the street address
Make sure all address details are accurate and complete
Use all capital letters if required by the postal service
Keep the address free of extra punctuation if preferred by local postal rules
