How to Put Laminate Flooring?

Acclimate the laminate flooring in the room for 48 to 72 hours

Remove existing flooring if needed

Clean and level the subfloor

Repair any cracks, holes, or uneven spots

Install underlayment if required

Measure the room and plan the layout

Leave an expansion gap around the walls

Start the first row along the longest straight wall

Cut off the tongue or groove as needed for the first row

Connect planks using the click-lock system

Stagger end joints between rows

Cut planks to fit at walls and obstacles

Use spacers to maintain the expansion gap

Tap planks together gently with a tapping block if needed

Install the last row by measuring and cutting to fit

Remove spacers after installation

Install baseboards or quarter-round molding

Clean the floor after installation

Avoid heavy traffic until installation is complete
