Test the lights before starting
Plug in the first strand and check for burned-out bulbs
Start at the top or bottom of the tree
Wrap the lights around the tree in a spiral
Tuck lights deeper into the branches for even coverage
Space the lights evenly as you move around the tree
Work section by section
Connect additional strands as needed
Hide cords along the back of the tree
Step back and adjust any dark spots
Turn off the lights before making changes
Secure loose bulbs or wires if needed
Unplug the lights when finished
