Measure the window width and decide the rod placement
Mark the bracket locations with a pencil
Use a level to keep the marks straight
Check for wall studs if possible
Drill pilot holes at the marked spots
Insert wall anchors if needed
Attach the brackets with screws
Slide the drapery rod onto the curtains if required
Place the rod into the brackets
Tighten any set screws or bracket fasteners
Hang the curtains and adjust the length and spacing
Verify the rod is secure and level
